Mr. Willcox’s practice is dedicated to counselling and the protection of businesses and individuals in civil litigation with an emphasis on employment litigation, including class and collective actions.
Mr. Willcox serves as a trusted adviser to businesses in agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, chemicals, hospitality, transportation and logistics, and retail industries, as well as temporary staffing and alternative staffing businesses, professional employer organizations (PEO).
Mr. Willcox has litigated labor and employment-related matters in federal and state courts throughout the United States, including appeals before the Georgia Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States, as well as private mediation and arbitration, and matters before various administrative agencies in claims involving Title VII, FLSA, ADEA, ADA, NLRA, FMLA, OSHA, Section 1981, and related tort claims arising from the hiring, retaining, promoting, disciplining, and termination of employees.
Mr. Willcox regularly provides preventive guidance and proactive workplace strategies designed to avoid and/or limit employment-related claims, including strategies to prevent and investigate discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims; analysis and strategies addressing reductions in force (RIFs); wage and hour law compliance; preparation and updating employee handbooks, employment agreements, restrictive covenant agreements severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, alternative dispute resolution policies, drug testing policies, and workplace codes of conduct.
Mr. Willcox was born and raised in Albany, Georgia. He is married to DeeDee Willcox, and they have three children.
