Presentations and Publications
Mr. Garland has spoken at many seminars in Georgia, Florida, and Texas concerning the issues facing creditors in commercial bankruptcy cases. Typically, the participants at the seminars are bankers and commercial lenders, but Mr. Garland has spoken at Continuing Legal Education seminars for lawyers. These presentations involve the preparation of a substantive paper and an oral presentation, as well as question and answer sessions with the attending audience.

Mr. Garland is a partner and member of the firm’s Commercial, Banking, and Business Law practice group. He specializes in the representation of creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 Bankruptcy Cases. Typically, Mr. Garland represents secured creditors, but has represented unsecured creditors committees and trustees in actions to recover assets of the bankruptcy estate. Further, Mr. Garland has represented both creditors and debtors in business work-out situations.
In addition to representing clients in bankruptcy cases, Mr. Garland frequently represents clients in business and commercial litigation cases, both in the Federal and State Courts of Georgia and Tennessee.
